An updated on the approval process from George Painter: “The Town of Fort Ann Planning Board has approved our design. That was the final step in a two-year process to get approvals from seven regulatory agencies for dredging our sailboat docking bay and building an innovative sailing pavilion that is accessible to people with disabilities. We will now re-bid the modified project (there is no roof on the second floor) and look for funding to complete the facility. Estimated completion in 2011 or 2012.”
Great news indeed! The new waterfront headquarters will allow Y-Knot to serve more sailors, better accommodate spectators, and will provide a safer and more efficient platform from which we can run our sailing days, races and regatta.
