Sail with Y-Knot

No experience necessary!

Y-Knot makes sailing on Lake George accessible to persons with all levels of experience and physical ability. We’ll provide you with a PFD (lifejacket), a boat and a knowledgeable skipper. You should bring sunscreen, appropriate clothes — we sail rain or shine — and your sense of adventure. Please reserve your spot at one of our sailing days by calling 518-656-9462, or email us at register@yknotsailing.org.

Participation in a sport like sailing builds confidence and self-esteem, while it challenges the whole person. Y-Knot is all about sailing — regardless of your experience or physical abilities. We offer a range of activities: learn to sail classes; supervised instruction on adapted boats; fun sailing events; and sailboat racing instruction. And experienced sailors may charter boats through our Community Sailing Program to enjoy the freedom of being on the water any time. Whether you’re a first time sailor, a seasoned “salt” or just along for the ride to enjoy beautiful Lake George, Y-Knot is for you.

One of the reasons why disabled sailing is one of the fastest growing sports in the world is that it has been made truly accessible for all persons regardless of their level of impairment. Y-Knot boats are equipped to accommodate a wide range of needs, and make your sailing experience safe, comfortable, and a chance for you to push your physical and mental skills to the max.

We’re always looking for new recruits. If you’re someone with a disability looking for a new challenge, or an able-bodied sailor interested in seeing your sport in a completely new light, contact us. We’ll be happy to share our dream with you and demonstrate how sailing allows us to “leave our disabilities on the shore.”
