Dear Y-Knot Sailors & Volunteers:
On Saturday March 31st and/or on April 14th Y-Knot needs your help at two
work parties devoted to preparing Y-Knot's six Martin 16s and its Freedom 20
for the coming sailing season.
The first session (March 31st) will be dedicated to examining each of the
Martins, and their respective trailers, to determine what repairs are needed
as well as replacement running and standing rigging that needs to be ordered
for each of the boats. I think 6-10 volunteers familiar with maintaining
sailboats will be needed for this task. I would think only a ½ day or so
will be needed to get the job done. Stemming from the examination of the
boats, replacement parts will be ordered so any needed the repairs can be
made.
The second session (April 14th) will be dedicated to making repairs and
cleaning up the boats, I don't think a huge number of volunteers are needed
for this session either. I think a few mechanically inclined people with
experience rigging, working on or cleaning boats should do the trick. We
ALWAYS need volunteers who want to learn these skills.
NOTE: Both work sessions will be carried out at or near the pavilion at Camp
Chingachgook beginning at 10:00am each day. I would estimate that we would
be done no later than 3pm on both days.
I know this isn't much notice, but I really do need your help and I hope you
can volunteer a little time. This season will be the busiest in the history
Y-Knot and we'll need all of the boats ready to go right from the start. If
you are interested in volunteering or have any questions please reply to
this email ASAP, or give me a call @ 466-9875.
Finally, please feel free to forward this email to anyone you feel might be
interested.
HEAR FROM YOU SOON!
Ron Byrne, Y-Knot
