The Sixth Annual Y-Knot Cup Regatta will be held on Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 7-9, 2005 at Camp Chingachgook on Lake George. Our last regatta was a huge success. Great breeze and close competition, with Y-Knot's Rebecca Stanley taking home the Y-Knot Cup.
As in past years, we are in great need of volunteers to assist in the staging of the event and I hope you can help. Volunteers will be needed from 8am - 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please contact me if you will be able to help out ASAP. Volunteer jobs are described below.
Companions accompany racers using the Martin 16s and must be experienced sailors.
Dock Crew help sailors putting on life jackets and slings, store wheelchairs while participants are on the water, position boats at the dock for loading and unloading and perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Lift Operators are responsible for the safe transfer of individuals on and off boats. You must be knowledgeable about the operation of the dock lift and the sling connections to the lift.
General Volunteers help the event organizers with registration and a million other details that come along with running a regatta.
Thank you for you consideration. Please reply to this email as soon as you can an let me know what days you will be able to help out and what you would like to do. Also, please forward this email to anyone you feel might be interested.
Sincerely,
Ron Byrne, Y-Knot Regatta Committee
