Meeting Called to Order at 6:15PM
Mike Peluso welcomed everyone and apologized for rescheduling and has agreed to meet on the dates set at the January 4, 2005 board meeting. Mike turned the meeting over to Spencer Raggio for a recap of the eBay purchase.
Vice President’s Report — Spencer Raggio
Peter Ballantyne from San Diego, California contacted Spencer Raggio about four Martin 16s and one double and one single trailer in Seattle, Washington, that were listed on eBay as of February 15, 2005. The bidding ended on Monday, February 21, 2005 at noon. With a lot of help and intervention from Steve Alvey, Y-Knot was able to secure the bid at $6600. Prior to the actual bid we agreed to sell two of the boats back to Challenged America, who were the original owners, for $2000. Steve Alvey's dad transported the boats from Seattle to San Diego where our new boats competed and one is believed to have come in first place. The boats are currently en route to St. Petersburg, FL. The trip cross-country cost $2000 plus the single trailer. Pete Hogg will bring the boats from the Midwinters to New York for approximately $400.
Steve Alvey has agreed to replace the running rigging for free. There are original sails that have been heavily used and one spinnaker. With respect to the pledges made for the purchase of the four boats, Spencer suggests we still submit this money to be put towards a new set of sails; $1000 for Main & Jib and $625.00 for the Spinnaker.
Rex Moon will check with George Painter to see if the Corinthians have paid the $2000 due Y-Knot, which will help offset the cost of the purchase and transportation of the two new Martins.

successful was detailed and discussed. Also registration procedures have
been set up to accommodate both the sailors and the volunteers either by

Fundraising Committee Report
Mike Peluso — Committee Chair
Mike Peluso recapped that Steve Mintz’s son-in-law could hook us up with an $18K Harley (at cost) to be raffled off at the Americade. However Harley backed out when they realized that they were competing with Honda. There is a Harley event called the Amjam in Cobleskill, NY. With some planning we could raffle off the Harley in 2006.
LG Rotary committed $3000.00 for one more year. On April 7th, George Painter and Mike Peluso are scheduled to meet with the Schenectady Rotary to introduce them to Y-Knot.
Fundraising priorities are purchasing new boats, implementing scholarships and helping Camp Chingachgook with a dock platform that will be instrumental for Y-Knot clinics and regattas. George Painter will be applying for money through the Standish Grant.
Susan Wright is drafting a letter to send to numerous banks. Banks can usually make a quick donation up to $1000.00.
Steve Rockwell suggested contacting places such as Lowes, Home Depot and local nurseries for donations such wood, flowers and pavers.
Membership Committee Report
Rebecca Stanley — Committee Chair, not present
Rex raised a question in regards to who should be members with respect to all the people listed on the database. Susan Wright suggested that the registration form should match the database and she offered to create that form. Neither was discussed in detail at this meeting.
Steve Rockwell inquired about money needed for the Freedom, money for more slings and money needed for quick repairs to get ready for spring. It was suggested that the Boat Maintenance committee inventory the PFDs, slings and working radios and come up with a budget for the quick repairs.
BJ Henry made 10 eight-month calendars for Y-Knot. The total cost was $63.00. Mike Peluso motioned that they should be free to the Board Members and Maryellen Rudolph seconded the motion. All agreed.
