Autohelm Discussion: Spencer Raggio explained the suggested options by Steve Alvey regarding the Autohelm Controller. An email was sent out to the board on January 4, 2005 detailing this. There was discussion on the pro’s and con’s of the situation. Rob Davies moved that we proceed with the approximate price of $2100 to obtain a complete, updated operating autohelm. Herm Lintner seconded the motion. Before the motion was voted upon, Rebecca Stanley wanted to make sure this was a need for Y-Knot. It was determined it was a need and the original motion by Rob Davies was back on the table and again Herm Lintner seconded. The vote was passed unanimously by a show of hands. Steve Rockwell will do an complete inventory of boat parts and pieces. Spencer Raggio will contact Steve Alvey and set the purchase of the autohelm system in place.

Also in talking with Steve Alvey, Spencer Raggio relayed information about availability of Martin 16s. Purchasing new boats from Canada will be more expensive due to the exchange rate. At the present time there are three used boats available and worth exploring further.
